Bihar thrash Nagaland to enter U-19 cricket final

Patna, January 18, 2011: Bihar ace batsman Shasheem Rathore finally found his form as he struck a polished century to guide Bihar to a thumping 8-wicket win over Nagaland in the BCCI Associated Members U-19 tournament in Bhillai on Tuesday.

With this win, Bihar moved into the final of the tournament though they still have to play their last round-robin league match against Manipur on January 20. Now, Bihar will play Chhattisgarh on January 22.

According to information reached here, Shasheem Rathore shrugged off his lean patch and scored 136 runs with 19 boundaries and two sixes. Bihar reached the target losing two wickets off 38.5 overs while chasing 24o to win.

Siddhant Vijay and Pawan Kumar chipped in 19 and 14 runs respectively. Babul Das and Shafi both bagged one wicket each.

Earlier, batting first Nagaland made 239 for nine wickets off 50 overs. Mayank Tayagi (57) and Nirbhay Singh (56) hit half-centuries. Tezi Sole (37) and Akariyato (37) were the other useful contributors.

For Bihar, Shasheem Rathore took four wickets for 49 runs. Satish Rai captured three wickets. Later, Shasheem was adjudged man of the match.
