Adamya Vikrant strolls into second round

Patna, January 10, 2011: Adamya Vikrant of Bihar moved into the second round of the Deshratna Dr Rajendra Prasad Memorial All India Ranking Tennis Tournament beating Ravi Kant Sahoo of Uttar Pradesh 6-0, 6-0 at the Patliputra Colony courts here on Monday.

The prestigious event of the Bihar Lawn Tennis Association began today. The formal inauguration of the tournament will be held tomorrow. Bihar’s Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister Sukhda Pandey will inaugurate the tournament at 2 pm.

Results: Amarjyuti Deka (Assam) beat Bheeshmak Srivastava (UP) 6-4, 6-4; Bibaswan Deb (WB) beat Tushar Jaitly (Punjab) 6-4, 6-0; Krishna Karsolia (UP) beat Aditya Naraian (UP) 6-2, 6-0; Adamya Vikrant (Bih) beat Ravi Kant Sahoo (UP) 6-0,6-0; Devendra Yadav (UP) beat Anish Anupam (Bihar) 6-1, 6-2; Anand Kumar (UP) beat Balbir Singh (Bihar) 6-1, 6-1; Mahendra Singh Rathor (Raj) beat Venkat Siddharth (Bihar) 6-1,6-0; Inderjot Singh (Pun) beat Momin Ali (Assam) 6-4, 6-0 and Siddharth Vishwakarma (UP) beat Samresh Singh (UP) 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
