Ashish Sinha (43) and Kamalesh four wickets for 12 runs helped Nehru Yuvak Kendra Cricket Club (NYKCC) Patna, post an impressive five-wicket victory over South Eastern Railway, Tata Nagar (Jamshedpur) in a quarter-final match of the second Archana Sharma memorial cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday.
Kamlesh of NYKCC who ran through Tata Nagar innings, was declared man of the match.
Batting first, Tata Nagar could muster 122 runs off 30.4 overs. Mohit Sharma top scored with 32 runs. Ajit (13) NS Krishnayati (19) were the other notable contributor.
In reply, NYKCC scored the required runs in 34.1 overs for the loss of five wickets. Ashish Sinha’s knock contained six hits to the fence. Rajiv (26) and K Aditya (19) were the other useful rungetters for the winners..

Abhishek Paul took five wickets for 15 runs as SRV Lucknow hammered SKP XI, Patna by 76 runs in the opening match of the third Archana Sharma memorial cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday.
Batting first, SRV boys scored 211 runs for the loss of eight wickets off 40 overs with a delightful half-century from Atul Singh (58). Sanjeev (43), Vikas Yadav (34) and Vimal Gautam (29) too came good with bats. Kundan Gupta captured three wickets for 47 runs.
In reply, SKP XI could manage to score 135 runs off 33.3 overs. Nishanth (43), Prabhat (24) and Sanjay Sinha (19) were the other prominent scorers. Besides Paul’s five wickets blitz, Jitendra claimed two wickets for 20 runs.

Sub-Jr National tenni-koit in Patna from June 8

Patna will host the 24th sub-junior National tenni-koit championship at Patna Central School here from June 8.
Talking to sports scribes here on Wednesday, secretary general of Tenni-Koit Federation of India BS Nagraj said the federation was trying for live telecast of the event. “A letter has already been sent to Doodarshan, New Delhi to this regard”, he added.
Working president of the Bihar Tenni-Koit Association, SB Prasad said that matches would be played on the newly constructed six courts at the Patna Central School ground.
Neeraj Kumar Pappu, secretary, Bihar Teeni-Koit Association said that about 700 players drawn from 23 states were expected to participate in the five-day tournament.

Taj Club struggle to down Junior Police Boys Club

The senior division Patna football league which began on February 16 is yet to get its momentum as the matches played in the last five days witnessed battles confined mostly to the midfield. Moreover teams lacking in their homework displayed disjointed football. On Friday, Taj Club struggled to down Junior Police Boys Club by a solitary goal at the Patna High School ground.
After a barren first half Shyam Kumar netted the match winner in the 40th minute. Abhishek of Junior Police Boys Club was shown yellow card by referee for rough play.
On Thursday, Secretariat Sports Club recorded a solitary goal victory over Nausha Sporting Club. The first half ended goalless. Vinay Kumar struck the match winner in the 80th minute.
Before the start of the match, players were introduced to former Bihar Santosh Trophy player Gyan Chandra.

The Sunday morning at the Moinul Haq Stadium here lit up with flurry of strokes coming from the bat of Pratyay Amirt, a senior IAS officer and presently heading the profit-making Bihar State Bridge Corporation. IAS officers were on the filed to play a friendly Twenty20 cricket match against sports journalists of Bihar. The match was organized by the Sports Journalists Association of Bihar. Pratyay scored an electrifying half-century to help his side Officers XI beat Sports Journalists Association of Bihar (SJAB) XI by 23 runs.
Officers XI skipper Pratyay Amrit won the toss and judging the nature of the pitch collecting all the wisdom of his playing days at college decided to bat on a perfect batting track. Despite losing the wicket of Ajay Nayak early, Officers XI scored 129 for three wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Pratyay and Mishra both retired to give chance to other batsmen to show their skills. Armit (12) and Ajay Nayak(6) were the other notable contributors.
Sanjeev Das with his right arm medium-pace took one wicket for nine runs in his spell of four overs. Md Ishauddin and Ramesh took one wicket each.
In reply, SJAB XI could manage to score 106 for nine wickets in 20 overs. Md Ishauddin of Rashtriya Sahara top scored with 18 runs. Abhijeet Biswas of PTI scored 16 runs while Arun Singh of Dainik Jagran struck 12 runs. Hindustan’s Prashant Kakkar (11) and Navin Chandra Manoj (9) were the other useful contributors. Armit bagged two wickets for 25 runs. Ajay Nayak took one wicket.
Sushmita Ratan, Chief Sub Editor, Hindustan Times gave away the prizes to players of the Officers XI. Ajay Nayak, Rajesh Bhushan , Pratyay Amrit and CK Msihra (all IAS officers) jointly gave away the prizes to SJAB XI players. Director of the Techno Point (Bahagalpur), Anshu Singh, who was the chief guest at prize-distribution function, gave away the best player trophies to Pratyay Amrit (Officers XI) and Md Ishauddin (SJAB XI). The convenor of the match Niraj Kumar Pappu was awarded special prize by Pratyay Amrit. RK Sinha, chairman cum managing director, SIS and Mirtunjay Tiwari, president, Bihar Players Association were present during the match.

In the second match, Yellow Panther beat Patna Women's College 'B' 15-6, 15-2. In the third match, Patna Women's College 'A' kept their slate clean beating Yellow Panther 15-11, 9-15, 15-13.
Earlier, Sister Doris D' Souza, Principal, Patna Women's College inaugurated the tournament. Naina Jha, cabinet secretary of the college, welcomed the guests. SB Prasad, working president, Throwball Association of Bihar (TAB) distributed the prizes. Niraj Kumar Pappu, secretary, TAB presided over the function.

Bengal, who had Indian team goalkeeper Subrata Pal in their line up, got off to a sound start as in the 8th minute striker Ayan Choudhary sent a crisp floater to G Das on the box and he did the rest (1-0). Bengal made a fine attempt in the 18th minute when P Bhowmick's shot ricocheted after hitting the cross bar. Striker S Islam latched on the ball and took a powerful shot but that could not beat Tamil Nadu goalkeeper K Narayan. Bengal scored the second goal in the 26th minute when RN Singh found the target off a pass from Ayan Choudhary (2-0).
Bengal ended the first half campaign with a 2-0 lead.
After the break, Ayan Choudhary scored the third and his first goal in the 46th minute (3-0). A few minutes later he netted his second and his team’s fourth goal (4-0). S Kalam increased the margin in the 53rd minute (5-0). R Biswas completed the tally in the 65th minute (6-0). T Pongappa reduced the margin for Tamil Nadu in the dying moments (6-1).
Gopal Das, Director, (HRD), BSNL, was the chief guest in the prize-distribution function and he gave away the prizes. SC Misra, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Bihar Circle welcomed the guests and RK Mishra, General Manager (mobile) proposed a vote of thanks. PK Sarkar, Principal General Manager (Patna Phones), Sunil Kumar, Financial Adviser, (Bihar Circle), SN Tiwari (observer) and chief referee N Sridharan were present at the prize-distribution function.
The organizers also felicitated Indian football team goalkeeper, Subrata Paul at the prize distribution ceremony.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Bengal crushed Punjab 4-0 while Tamil Nadu upset defending champions Karnataka 3-1.
Karnataka started the proceedings on a fine note as their striker Kadir Abb drew the first blood in the 21st minute. But the lead could not last long as Tamil Nadu equalised it in the 26th minute through Parthsarthy (1-1). Both teams were locked 1-1 in the first half. Kaltas put Tamil Nadu in the lead scoring the second goal for his team in the 52nd minute (2-1). J Pargunam scored the third goal for Tamil Nadu in the 60th minute (3-1).

There was a strong indication, the way Hindustan played in the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament they could win the title despite pitted against defending champions Rashtriya Sahara in the final. Hindustan restricted Rashtriya Sahara to a modest 142 for the loss of seven wickets off 20 overs but while chasing the target their batsmen failed to steal the singles and twos and went only for big shots. It proved costly as Rashtriya Sahara emerged deserving winners for the second successive year.
The final of the 20-day long event at the Moinul Haq Stadium here saw Rastriya Sahara’s star batsman Nitosh Jha, who failed to click in the earlier matches, returning to form in the final scoring a brilliant half-century (57) and helped Rashtria Sahara retain the trophy for the second time in a row defeating Hindustan by 23 runs .
Nitosh Jha‘s knock contained five nicely executed boundaries and one six. Rakesh Chowhan (16) and Rajiv Ranjan (14) were the other main contributors for Sahara. Vijay of Hindustan took four wickets for 27 and Rahul took 2 for 24.

Dilip Mishra (Hindustan) was declared the best batsman, Birendra Singh (Rashtriya Sahara) was adjudged the best bowler of the tournament.

UP XI claimed the first All-India Pratik Narain memorial under-17 cricket tournament title beating SKP XI, Patna, by 57 runs in the final at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground, here on Thursday.
Batting first, UP XI made 189 runs in 34.2 overs. In reply, SKP XI could manage to score 132 runs in 32.4 overs. Dheeraj Patel of UP XI scored a magnificent half-century (54 runs) while Anil Pandey took four wickets for 14 runs. Sachin Sharma was named player of the tournament Manish Patel (best batsman), Anil Pandey (best bowler) and Vivek Singh (best fielder).
Acting Chief Justice of Patna High Court Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad inaugurated the tournament. Anil Sinha, ADGP (Vigilance), former Test cricketer Ramesh Saxena and Vivek Kumar Singh, secretary, Art, Culture and Youth Affairs jointly distributed the prizes. Rashtriya Sahara, Hindustan in final

You just can’t expect more. The quality of cricket and total devotion shown by the four semi-finalist teams on the field for the top two slots of the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twnety20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Wednesday gave ample example why T20 format of the cricket is most popular and even the mediamen, who played the game for fun felt the heat. The results came out at the end of 20th over showed the intensity of battle fought between the tow teams.
Defending champions Rashtriya Sahara, who are considered to be title favourites, survived some anxious moment before prevailing over dark-horse Hindustan Times Media Limited by 14 runs. Karnataka, Bengal maintain winning spree

Defending champions Karnataka and runners-up West Bengal maintained their winning streak in the 8th All-India Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) inter-circle football tournament here on Tuesday.
In the 11 matches played on Monday at four different venues, Karnataka thrashed Jharkhand 5-0 while West Bengal struggled to down North East I 2-0. A few teams had to play two matches in a day to complete the schedule.
Hosts Bihar, opened their account beating Andhra Pradesh 1-0 after a keen tussle. In the other matches of the day, Kerala beat UP East 9-0, the biggest ever victory margin in the tournament thus far.

UP XI defeated Cricket Association of Bihar by 18 runs in the first All India Pratik Narain memorial under-17 cricket tournament at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground, here on Monday.
Batting first UP XI made 125 runs off 23.2 overs. Vivek Singh (39) and Manish Patel (28) were the notable contributors. Vikas Anand took three wickets for 18 runs while Kundan Kumar grabbed two for 28.
In reply, CAB could collect 107 runs off 28.2 overs. Kundan Kumar batted well to score 41 runs. Raj Srivastava scored 13 runs. Dinesh Yadav claimed four wickets for 16 runs. Ayan Chowdhary and Anil Pandey claimed two wickets each. For his impressive bowling performance, Dinesh Yadav was declared man of the match.

Hindustan Times Media Limited and Hindustan stormed into the semi-finals of the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament winning their quarter-final matches with great comfort and élan at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday.

The day’s first match saw HT Media defeating runners-up Aj by six wickets while in the second match the Hindi daily of the same house Hindustan rattled Prabhat Khabar by nine wickets to set up semi-final clash with Dainik Jagaran slated for Wednesday. HT Media will take on defending champions Rashtriya Sahara in the first semi-final on the same day.
In the first match of the day, HT Media bowlers kept Aj batsmen on tight lease with their wicket to wicket attack. Suraj Dev (24) and Pramod Singh (29) tried to break the shackle with some lofty hitting. But they could not take it to a long way as Aj innings folded for 77 runs off 19.2 overs. Prashant of HT was the pick among bowlers claiming three wickets for 14 runs. Laxmi and Ghanshyam bagged two wickets each.
In reply, HT Media surpassed the target in 13.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Saurav Kumar (HT Media), who scored 24 runs and took one wicket, was declared man of the match. Pradeep Modak, secretary, Sports Journalists Association of Bihar (SJAB) was the chief guest and he gave away the man of the match award to Saurav.
The second match of the day too nearly scripted the same story. Batting first Prabhat Khabar were soon in trouble losing three quick wickets including the precious one of Manish Kumar, who has been their batting main stay in the tournament thus far. Hindustan medium pacers Dilip Mishra and Arun Pratap did the damage most. The duo shared six wickets between them claiming three each. Prabhat Khabar were all out for 74 runs in 16.1 overs.
In reply, Hindustan began their chase in a whirl-wind fashion. After his three wickets haul, Dilip Mishra displayed his tremendous batting form clobbering Prabhat Khabar bowling in free-flowing manner. Dilip stroked in a quick-fire half-century (51, 8x4, 1x6, 34 balls). Hindustan reached the target in 11.1 overs losing one wicket. Dilip Mishra was later adjudged man of the match. Ramashankar Prasad, secretary, Bihar Fencing Association, gave away the man of the match trophy to Dilip.

Officers XI clinched the G Krishnaiyah-KC Surendra Babu Trophy beating Ambedkar XI by eight runs in an exhibition cricket match at the Mithilesh Stadium here on Sunday.
Batting first Officers XI led by Urban Development secretary, Government of Bihar, Deepak Kumar scored 97 runs. In reply, Ambedkar XI led by Information and Public Relation Department secretary Rajesh Bhushan could made 89 runs.
Amay Kumar Singh (Ambedkar XI) who scored 42 runs was declared man of the match. Ofiicers XI’s Vivek Kumar Singh scored 27 runs. All the players were awarded memento and Madhubani paintings by the organizers, Ambedkar Khel Vihar.

Abhay was the most aggressive of the two collecting 72 runs off 57 balls with 13 nicely executed shots to the fence. Rajiv Ranjan made 46 runs. Sahara piled up 154 runs for the loss of five wickets off 20 overs. Mayank Sharma claimed two wickets for 19 runs.

Purushottam helps Hindustan reach Q-F
Patna, February 7
Purushottam (unbeaten 47 runs and one wicket) helped Hindustan reach quarter-finals of the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament defeating ETV, Bihar by 45 runs in a pool D league match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday.
With this huge win, Hindustan who had a fear of bowing out of the tournament despite the victory, topped the pool and set up quarter-final clash with Parbhat Khabar.
In another match of the same pool, Channels XI shocked last year’s runners-up Aj by 35 runs. The victory, however, could not help Channels XI as they faced exit losing two earlier matches. In this group Aj moved into the quarter-finals.
Batting first, Hindustan scored 160 runs losing five wickets off 20 overs. Purushottam’s innings was studded with five fours. Vijat (27, 2x4, 1x6), Arun Pratap (28) and Dilip Mishra (11) were the other notable contributors. Rajesh and Sanjeev took two wickets each.
In reply, ETV, Bihar could manage to score 115 runs for 7 off 20 overs. Sanjeev (27), Alok (19) and Rupesh (19 not out) justified their batting. Vijay and Dilip captured two wickets each.

HT Media top Pool C; Prabhat Khabar in last 8

Hindustan Times Media Limited scripted their third successive victory in the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament to top Pool C at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday.
Hindustan Times Media beat Quami Tanzeem by 68 runs to keep their slate clean in all three encounters of Pool C. Hindustan Times had already qualified for the quarter-finals while Prabhat Khabar made the last eight grade from this pool defeating Photo Journalists XI by 102 runs.
Laxmi of HT media, who claimed four wickets for 13 runs, was declared man of the match. Bihar Cricket Association secretary Ajay Narain Sharma, who was the chief guest, gave away the man of the match award.
Batting first, HT Media scored 157 all out off 19.5 overs. Prashant (43, 3x4, 1x6), ajesh (40, 2x4) and Saurav (23) were the main contributors. Razi Ahmad claimed three wickets for 17 runs. Sandeep and Asad took two wickets each.
In reply, Quami Tanzeem crumbled out for paltry 89 off 19 overs. Hasan izwan top scored with 42 runs. Besides Laxmi’s four-wicket haul, Arvind and Neeraj captured two wickets each.

An all-round performance by Alok Chaturvedi (two wickets and 27 runs) helped Dainik Jagran beat Sanmarg by five wickets in their last pool C match of the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Thursday.
With is win Dainik Jagran cemented their place in the quarter-finals while the losers Sanmarg also earned a berth in the last eight stage with four points from three matches.
The last league match of the same pool between News Agencies XI and Times of India could not be played as the former did not turn up. Times of India earned full points after getting a walk-over.

In the last league match Rashtirya Sahara prevailed over Doordarshan Kendra, Patna (DDK, Patna) by an huge margin of 108 runs.
In the second match of the day, All India Radio, Patna beat Radio Mirchi bi six wickets. With this win AIR, Patna entered the quarter-finals. Rashtriya Sahara had already made the quarter-finals grade.
Batting first, Rashtriya Sahara piled up 195 runs for the loss of two wickets off 20 overs. Abhay Pathak dished out an impressive performance scoring 90 runs. Opner Abhay along with other opening batsman Nitosh Jha (43) gathered 105 runs for the first wicket.

Aj in Q-F, Hindustan post first win

Hindustan recorded their first win defeating Channels XI by 53 runs in a pool D league match of the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday.
Batting first Hindustan scored 143 for the loss of five wickets off 20 overs and then restricted their rivals at 90 all out.
In the same pool last years runners-up Aj booked their berth in the quarter-finals defeating ETV, Bihar by six wickets. Aj have collected four points from two matches thus far.
Batting first ETV made 98 runs for the loss of eight wickets off 20 overs. Vinayak (11) and Ashish (20) could reach the double figures for ETV against steady and sturdy bowling attack of Aj spearheaded by Vicky Raj who claimed four wickets for 16 runs. Maonj too bowled well to get three wickets for 11 runs.
In reply, Aj raced to the target losing four wickets on the way. Manoj played a diligent knock of 48 not with four hits to the fence. For his envious batting and bowling performance, Manoj was later adjudged man of the match.
Hindustan batsmen, who looked quite sluggish in their first match against Aj, found their forms in the vital match against Channels XI. Dilip Mishra, who is the main stay of Hindustan batting line up, rose to the occasion making a quick-fire half-century (61, 9x4, 1x6). Purushottam scored 25 runs.
RP Gupta bagged two wickets for 18 runs while Prakash Singh took one wicket for 27 runs.
In reply, Channels XI failed to chase the target after the fall of Prakash Singh, who scored 22 runs. Channels Xi were all out for 90 runs off 16.4 overs. Purushottam, Rahul, Jai Prakash and Arun Pratap all took two wickets each for Hindustan.

Hindustan Times Media Limted (HTML) registered their second successive win in the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament with a thrilling 3-run victory Prabhat Khabar in a pool C league match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday.
The victory saw Hindustan Times marching into the quarter-final stage of the tournament with four points from two matches.
Earlier in the day’s first match of the same pool, Quami Tanzeem knocked Photo Journalists XI out of the tournament by 70 runs. Aftab Alam of Photo Journalists XI bowled magnificently claiming five wickets for 21 runs. Later Aftab performed well with the bat scoring 15 runs but his efforts were not enough to his side through. However, for his gallant show Aftab was adjudged man of the match.
Batting first Quami Tanzeem scored 132 for 9 off 20 overs. Md Mushtaq (32) and Md Ashad (34) delighted the crowd with some loft strokes. Nagendra claimed two wickets for 23 runs for Photo Journalists XI.

Hindustan Times Media Limted (HTML) registered their second successive win in the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament with a thrilling 3-run victory Prabhat Khabar in a pool C league match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday.
The victory saw Hindustan Times marching into the quarter-final stage of the tournament with four points from two matches.
Earlier in the day’s first match of the same pool, Quami Tanzeem knocked Photo Journalists XI out of the tournament by 70 runs. Aftab Alam of Photo Journalists XI bowled magnificently claiming five wickets for 21 runs. Later Aftab performed well with the bat scoring 15 runs but his efforts were not enough to his side through. However, for his gallant show Aftab was adjudged man of the match.
Batting first Quami Tanzeem scored 132 for 9 off 20 overs. Md Mushtaq (32) and Md Ashad (34) delighted the crowd with some loft strokes. Nagendra claimed two wickets for 23 runs for Photo Journalists XI.
In reply, Photo Journalists were shot out for paltry 62 runs. Ranjeet emerged as top scorer with 27 runs. Raj Ahmad took three wickets for 10 runs. Zeeshan, Md Ashad and Sandeep captured two wickets each.
Hindustan Times Media Limited collected 135 runs for the loss of 7 wickets off 20 overs. Aakash (31), Saurav (31) and Rajesh (18) were the notable contributors. Ajay Rai, Chetan and Randhir grabbed two wickets each.

Banka to host women soccer from Feb 18
Patna, February 3
The sixth Bihar state women football championship for Dr Swaminandan Cup will be held at Banka from February 18.
Jwala Prasad Sinha, office secretary, Bihar Football Association said defending champions West Champaran, runners-up Begusarai, Patna, East Champaran, East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Munger, Nalanda, Chapra, Khagaria, Lakhisarai and Purnia would take part in the championships.
The sixth Bihar state women football championship for Dr Swaminandan Cup will be held at Banka from February 18.

Sanmarg and Dainik Jagran took their appointed place in the quarter-finals from pool 'B' defeating Times of India and News Agencies XI respectively in the fourth Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium on Sunday.
In the first match, Sanmarg clinched a cliff-hanger beating Times of India by three runs. Batting after winning the toss, Sanmarg could muster 89 runs in 16.5 overs. In reply, Times of India were all out for 86 runs in 19.3 overs. Md Saddab (Sanmarg), who claimed four wickets for 23 runs, was declared man of the match.
In the second match, Dainik Jagran made 179 for three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Vivekanand (60) and Manish Singh (42) did bulk of the scoring.
Chasing a winning target of 180 runs in 20 overs, News Agencies XI were all out for 104 runs in 19.5 overs. Manish Singh, claimed three wickets for 16 runs. He was adjudged man of the match.

Defending champions Rashtriya Sahara registered second successive victory in the fourth Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament defeating Radio Mirchi by 77 runs in their pool ‘A’ league match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday.
With this win Rashtriya Sahara moved into the quarter-finals from pool A with four points to their credit. Birendra Singh of Sahara, who claimed four wickets for 14 runs, was declared man of the match.

Thrilling one-wicket win for ETV

ETV, Bihar fought it out for a narrow one-wicket win over Channels XI in a pool 'D' league match of the fourth Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday.
Chasing a modest 109 to win, ETV struggled hard for every run and won the match on the last ball of the innings with one wicket to spare. Sanjeev Kumar of ETV, Bihar, who scored 41 runs and took two wickets, was declared man of the match.
In the second match played at the same venue, Aj defeated former champions Hindustan by three wickets. Manoj (Aj), who scored 44 runs and claimed two wickets, was declared man of the match.
Batting first Hindustan batsmen crumbled to 103 for 9 off 20 overs. Dilip Kumar Mishra waged a lone battle against Aj bowling attack scoring 25 runs with four hits to the fence. Sujeet (15) and Jai Prakash (13) were the other notable contributors.

A blazing 90 off 45 balls by Prashant helped Hindustan Times Media Limited thrash Photo Journalists XI by 173 runs in a pool 'C' league match of the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Thursday.

Prashant’s hurricane innings was studded with nine boundaries and three mighty heaves over the fence. He was later declared man of the match for his awesome firepower.
Batting first HT Media Limited piled up 225 runs for the loss of three wickets off 20 overs. The highlight of the HT innings was 149 runs opening wicket partnership between Prashant and Akash, who remained unbeaten on 48 runs.
In reply, Photo Journalists XI were shot out for 52 runs off 18.2 overs. Arvinda, Guru Dutt and Sanjay claimed two wickets each.

Manoj Kumar claimed the men's singles title of the New Patna Club tennis championship defeating Amitesh Anand 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in the final at New Patna Club courts here on Monday.
Maonj took the first set easily at 6-3 but Amitesh bounced back in the second winning the set by an identical margin. Manoj fought hard in the decider to stave off Amitesh challenge and won the set and the match at 6-4.
Adya Sinha clinched the girls’ singles crown beating Kislay Kaushambee in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Adya and Kislay fought well in the first set. Adya broke Kislay serves and captured the set at 6-4. The second set, however, was an easy go for Adya as she did not face much difficulty to get the set and the match.
Shantanu Somya bagged the boys’ singles title beating Punit Nandan 6-3, 6-2. Aditya Bharadwaj claimed the junior boys' singles title defeating Nehal Singh 6-2, 6-1. Sarthak won the mini junior boys’ singles crown thrashing Raghav Shroff 6-1, 6-2.
