Prashant shines in HT Media win

Patna, January 29
A blazing 90 off 45 balls by Prashant helped Hindustan Times Media Limited thrash Photo Journalists XI by 173 runs in a pool 'C' league match of the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Thursday.

Prashant’s hurricane innings was studded with nine boundaries and three mighty heaves over the fence. He was later declared man of the match for his awesome firepower.

Batting first HT Media Limited piled up 225 runs for the loss of three wickets off 20 overs. The highlight of the HT innings was 149 runs opening wicket partnership between Prashant and Akash, who remained unbeaten on 48 runs.

In reply, Photo Journalists XI were shot out for 52 runs off 18.2 overs. Arvinda, Guru Dutt and Sanjay claimed two wickets each.

Earlier in the first match, Prabhat Khabar beat Qaumi Tanzeem by 74 runs. Manish Kumar of Prabhat Khabar, who scored 65 runs with the help of seven boundaries, was declared man of the match.
