ETV, Bihar fought it out for a narrow one-wicket win over Channels XI in a pool 'D' league match of the fourth Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday.
Chasing a modest 109 to win, ETV struggled hard for every run and won the match on the last ball of the innings with one wicket to spare. Sanjeev Kumar of ETV, Bihar, who scored 41 runs and took two wickets, was declared man of the match.
In the second match played at the same venue, Aj defeated former champions Hindustan by three wickets. Manoj (Aj), who scored 44 runs and claimed two wickets, was declared man of the match.
Batting first Hindustan batsmen crumbled to 103 for 9 off 20 overs. Dilip Kumar Mishra waged a lone battle against Aj bowling attack scoring 25 runs with four hits to the fence. Sujeet (15) and Jai Prakash (13) were the other notable contributors.
