Taj Club struggle to down Junior Police Boys Club

The senior division Patna football league which began on February 16 is yet to get its momentum as the matches played in the last five days witnessed battles confined mostly to the midfield. Moreover teams lacking in their homework displayed disjointed football. On Friday, Taj Club struggled to down Junior Police Boys Club by a solitary goal at the Patna High School ground.

After a barren first half Shyam Kumar netted the match winner in the 40th minute. Abhishek of Junior Police Boys Club was shown yellow card by referee for rough play.

On Thursday, Secretariat Sports Club recorded a solitary goal victory over Nausha Sporting Club. The first half ended goalless. Vinay Kumar struck the match winner in the 80th minute.

Before the start of the match, players were introduced to former Bihar Santosh Trophy player Gyan Chandra.

On Wednesday, Taj Club managed a goalless draw with Khazanchi Road Football Club.
Nausha Sporting Club defeated Junior Police Boys Club 1-0 on Tuesday.
Both teams failed to open the account in the first half. Md Saddab scored the ole goal of the match in the 54th minute.


In another match Suraj Sporting Club failed to turn up against Secretariat Sports Club. It was the second walk-over in the league. Earlier on the opening day of the league Kumar Club did not field their team against Taj Club on Monday.
The second match of the opening day saw Eleven Stars Club, Mokama, drawing with Nausha Sporting Club 0-0.

Before the start of the match, players were introduced to Bidhya Bhushan Singh, vice-president, Patna Football Association (PFA). Rajendra Prasad Yadav, secretary, PFA, Shyam Babu Yadav and Manoj Kumar, office secretary, PFA were present at the opening function.
