HT Media top Pool C; Prabhat Khabar in last 8

Hindustan Times Media Limited scripted their third successive victory in the 4th Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament to top Pool C at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday.

Hindustan Times Media beat Quami Tanzeem by 68 runs to keep their slate clean in all three encounters of Pool C. Hindustan Times had already qualified for the quarter-finals while Prabhat Khabar made the last eight grade from this pool defeating Photo Journalists XI by 102 runs.

Laxmi of HT media, who claimed four wickets for 13 runs, was declared man of the match. Bihar Cricket Association secretary Ajay Narain Sharma, who was the chief guest, gave away the man of the match award.

Batting first, HT Media scored 157 all out off 19.5 overs. Prashant (43, 3x4, 1x6), ajesh (40, 2x4) and Saurav (23) were the main contributors. Razi Ahmad claimed three wickets for 17 runs. Sandeep and Asad took two wickets each.

In reply, Quami Tanzeem crumbled out for paltry 89 off 19 overs. Hasan izwan top scored with 42 runs. Besides Laxmi’s four-wicket haul, Arvind and Neeraj captured two wickets each.

In the second match Prabhat Khabar set a stiff target of 175 for victory against Photo Journalists XI. Randhir (37), Manish (33), Vikas (29) and Rakesh (24) did the most of the scoring. Ajit captured two wickets for 34 runs.

In reply, Photo Journalists XI were shot out for 52 runs. Randhir bagged three wickets for 7 runs. Randhir of Prabhat Khabar was adjudged man of the match.

Prabhat Khabar: 174 for six off 20 overs (Randhir 37, Manish 33, Vikas 29, Rakesh 24, Mithilesh 16 and Ajit 2 for 34).
Photo Journalists XI: 52 all out off 12.4 overs (Randhir 3 wickets for 7 runs, Ajay 2 for 9, Mithilesh 1 for 12 and Mritunjay 2 for 34).
