Rashtirya Sahara move into quarter-finals

Defending champions Rashtriya Sahara registered second successive victory in the fourth Airtel Media Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament defeating Radio Mirchi by 77 runs in their pool ‘A’ league match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday.

With this win Rashtriya Sahara moved into the quarter-finals from pool A with four points to their credit. Birendra Singh of Sahara, who claimed four wickets for 14 runs, was declared man of the match.

Using the strip first, Rashtriya Sahara made 159 runs for the loss of eight wickets off 20 overs. Abhay Pathak played a blistering knock of 64 runs with ten boundaries. Rajeev Ranjan (28) played his part to consolidate Sahara innings. For radio Mirchi, Hussain got four wickets of 24 runs.

In reply, Radio Mirchi boys were all out for 82 runs off 18.3 overs. Ramkishan (21) and Viman (22) came good with the bat.

In the second match, All India Radio (AIR), Patna beat DDK, Patna, by 29 runs. Deepak Kumar of AIR, Patna, who bagged three wickets and scored 19 runs, was declared man of the match.
