Sukhdeo cricket: Holy Mission School move up


Patna, October 25

Holy Mission High School, Samastipur, had an easy seven-wicket victory over Residential Siksha Niketan, Begusarai in the 24th Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the DVA School (BSEB Colony) ground here on Friday.

Amit Kumar of the winning team, who captured four wickets for 25 runs, got the man of the match award.

Batting first, Residential Siksha Niketan boys mustered 132 runs off 25.3 overs. In reply, Holy Mission boys surpassed the target losing three wickets. Manish (34) was the top scorer for the winners.

Concept Academy win

Concept Academy, Patna beat SS High School, Bhagwanpur by six wickets in the Super 30 Challenge Cup school cricket tournament at the Patna College ground on Friday.

In the other match, Gayatri International School, Patna crushed Rajshri School, Bhabhua by seven wickets.
Kishlay Kishore (Concept Academy) and Munchun (Gayatri International) were awarded man of the man of the match.

Brief scores: SS High School, Siwan: 92 all out off 22.4 overs (Chhotu 11, Mukesh 20, Kishlay Kishore 4 for 10, Tushar 3 for 23). Concept Academy: 95 for 4 off 21. 4 overs (Kishlay Kishore 20, Rahul 14, Sunny 10, Ranjit 1 for 16)
Rajshri High School: 101 for 9 off 22.4 overs (Wasim Ali 29, Satyendra 14, Arup 2 for 20, Sudarshan 2 for 11, Khushwar 2 for 11). Gayatri International : 102 for 3 (Saurav 21, Munchun15).

Bina races to 1500-m gold
Bina Kumari of Saran cornered glory on the opening day of the three-day Bihar State Women’s Sports Festival at Bettiah on Friday. Bina claimed the 1500-metre race gold medal.

Khushbu and Sugandha got the second and third positions respectively. Earlier, State Cooperative Minister Giriraj Singh declared the meet open in colourful function. Sports Minister Renu Devi was also present at the opening ceremony.

Karate championships from November 14
Sports Karate Do Association will organize first inter-school karate championships in Patna from November 14 to 16.

Inter-Army school volleyball

Gopalpur chalked out a fighting 27-25, 20-25 and 25-15 win over Army School, Danapur in the Cluster V Inter-Army school volleyball tournament on Friday.

In the girls’ section, Ramgarh School beat hosts Danapur by 25-18, 25-20. Earlier, Brigadier PS Rathi inaugurated the tournament.
