Don Bosco School, Darbhanga and Mother Teresa Mission School, Patna moved into the next round of the Super-30 Chalenge Cup inter-school cricket tournament at the Patna College ground on Saturday.
Don Bosco School carved out a hard-fought 6-run victory over Raj Gyan Niketan, Allahabad while Mother Teresa boys had an easy 34-run win over Dayanand Saraswati School, Allahabad in the second match of the day.
Ranji of Raj Gyan Niketan and Sailesh Kumar of Dayanand Saraswati School were adjudged man of the match in their respective encounters.
Brief scores: Don Bosco School: 119 off 22.3 overs (Sajid Hussain 24, Mukhtar 27, Asif 21, Ranjit five wickets for 17 runs, Vijendra 2 for 10). Raj Gyan Niketan: 113 off 21.1 overs (Hriday Narayan 32, Anil 31, Asif 2 for 24, Vijay 3 for 16)
Mother Teresa School: 135 off 21.1 overs (Pankaj 14, Mannu 12, Ravi 16, Nitesh 15, Sunny 3 for 14). Dayanand Saraswati School: 111 for 8 off 25 overs (Sailesh 42, Vinay 23, Ravi 10, Vipin 24, Ravi 2 for 23, Anuj 2 for 19 and Pankaj 2 for 8).
Thumping win for Lilua
Lilua steamrollered Gaya 8-1to storm into the semi-finals of the Bernard Shield football tournament at Jagjiwan Stadium, Danapur.
A Hussai, who scored three goals for Lilua, got the best player of the match award.
SN Haldar opened the account for Lilua in the very third minute of the game. Leter, it was nearly a one-sided encounter as the workshop men rained in seven more goals. Akbar Ali brought some solace for Gaya scoring the lone goal in the 38th minute. S Ghosh and B Bauri scored one goal each while S Mandi struck two for Lilua.
Patna U-19 cricket team
A 13-member team will represent Patna in the Inter-district school cricket championships for CK Nayadu Trophy.

Senior State wrestling from November 15
Senior Bihar State wrestling championships will be held at Mahuar village (Kaimur) from November 15.
Bihar Wrestling Association secretary Kameshwar Singh said state team would be selected on the basis of the performance of the two-day championships.
