Mehta is new BOA president

Patna, October 20
A sea change has been witnessed in the annual quadrennial general meeting of the Bihar Olympic Association as all the veteran office-bearers kept themselves off from seeking re-election. Instead they gave the responsibility to relatively younger lot to keep BOA flag flying. The meeting was held in Muzaffarpur.

Prasenjit Mehta of Muzaffarpur was elected unopposed the new president of BOA. Mehta replaced Arjun Bikram Shah, who, however, was named life president of the BOA. Md Mushtaque Ahmad of Patna was unanimously elected the new secretary while Manoj Kumar Sharma of Begusarai was elected the treasurer. Mushtaque was elected executive committee member of the Indian Olympic Association recently.

Mushtaque replaced S Ejaz Hussain, who, along with Dr Prem Kumar and Dr Akhauri Bhuvaneshwar Prasad, was named life patrons of the association. Arjun Bikram Shah presided over the meeting. Secretary General of the Jharkhand Olympic Association and executive member of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), S Matloob attended the meeting as official observer of the IOA. Dr Prem Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.
