Amit Kumar of Uttar Pradesh clinched the men's single title in the Justice PN Singh memorial 8th East Zone carrom championships at the Lohia Nagar Mount Carmel School here on Sunday.
Amit defeated Subhash Chakarvorty (Bengal) in straight sets 25-8, 25-18 in the final.
Khushbu Rani of Jharkhand annexed the women’s singles crown defeating Sandhya Sinha of Bihar 25-0, 25-0.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh claimed the men's team championship title trouncing Bihar 3-0 in the last match of round robin league.
Manoj Jaiswal of Bihar got the junior boys' title defeating Md R Hasnat (Bengal) 25-17, 25-10 in the final. Khushabu Kumari of Jharkhand claimed the girls’ title thrashing Vibha Kumari (Bihar) 25-12, 25-0 in the final.
Ram Kripal Yadav, MP, distributed the prizes. Bihar State Carrom Association president Ravi P Sinha proposed a vote of thanks. Ashok Kumar Singh presided over the function.
