Bihar's Rashmi is Carrom Queen

Bihar Rashmi Kumari created a history in the International Carrom Federation (ICF) Cup claiming three titles--women singles, women’s doubles and women’s team championship-in Colombo on Monday.

According to information sent by Bharat Bhushan, Team India coach and secretary Bihar State Carrom Association, Rashmi, a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL, a Government of India owned telecom giant) employee in Patna, first helped India win the women’s team championships crown and then bagged two more gold medals to her bag winning the women’s singles and doubles titles.

In the women’s singles, Rashmi defeated her teammate P Nirmala. In the doubles, combining with P Nirmala, she outplayed another Indian pair of I.Ilavazhaki and Revathi.

The tournament ended today witnessed Indian carom players stamping their authority in all the events making it a clean sweep.
