Narrow win for St Karen's School boys

St Karen’s School, Patna struggled hard to post 8-run victory over Monastic High School, Muzaffarpur in the the 24th Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the DAV Public School (BSEB) ground on Sunday.

Batting first St Karen’s boys made 159 for nine off stipulated 30 overs and then bundled out their rivals for 151 runs off 27.1 overs. Tusharkant of St Karen’s, who top scored with 43 runs, was adjudged man of the match.

Brief scores: St Karen’s School: 159 for 9 off 30 overs (Tusharkant 43, Akash 38, Kabir Sanyal 14, Jainendra 12, Faisal Gani 3 for 7, Vikram 2 for 22). Monastic School: 151 all out off 27.1 overs (Vikas Ranjan 42, Faisal Gani 41, Imroz 11, Vikram Shahi 11, Abhishek 2 for 14, Kabir Sanyal 2 for 20, Harpreet 2 for 26)

Bhagalpur, Ara teams win

Sadbhawna Academy, Bhagalpur and RPS Residental School, Ara stromed into the next round of the Super 30 Challenge Cup inter-school cricket tournament at the Patna College ground here.

Sadbhawna Academy clinched a convincing eight-wicket win over RK Public School, Begusarai while RPS Residential School thrashed St Joseph’s School, Samastipur by huge 196 runs. Ranajit Kumar and Varun Kumar of the winning teams got the man of the match awards respectively.

Brief scores: RK School: 39 off 12.3 overs (Saurav 13, Moti 4 for 11, Ranjit 4 for 9). Sadbhawna Academy: 41 for 2 off 6.4 overs (Ranjit 15, Uday 14).
RPS School: 217 for off 25 overs (Varun 85, Ravi 22, Dhananjay 24) St Joseph’s School: 34 all out off 8 overs (Firoj 10, Dhananjay 4 for 16, Ravi 4 for 10)

Lilua in Bernard Shield final

Lilua (West Bengal) booked their appointed slot in the final of the Bernard Shield football tournament defeating Siwan 3-1 in an exciting semi-final at the Jagjiwan Stadium, Danapur.

S Kisku, who struck twice ( 40th 70th minutes) for the winners, got the best player of the match award. A Hussin scored the second goal for Lilua in the 45th minute.

At the breathet, Lilua were leading 2-0. N Minz reduced the margin for Siwan at the closing moments of the game.

PDCA club transfer

As many as Sixtysix players sought transfer from one club to other on the final day of the three-day club transfer programme of the Patna District cricket Association.

PDCA secretary Ajay Naryan Sharma said Triumphant was the big loser as nine players from this club itself sought transfer to other club. Saurav Chakraborty, Kumar Mridul, Saket Kumar, Sahil Srivastava, Nishant Mohan, Raj Kumar and Anant Priya were among the leading transfer seekers.
