Pravin Kumar of Patna won the Bihar State U-19 chess championships tile collecting five out of six points at stake in a six-round Swiss league system game at the Delhi Public School (DPS), Danapur, on Monday.
In the girls’ section, Bhagalpur’s Pallavi bagged the tile with four points at the end of fourth and final round play.
Lieutenant Colonel Subir Kumar Mukherjee, who was the chief guest at closing function, gave away the prizes. DPS Principal KB Binod and All Bihar Chess Association secretary Arvinda Kumar Sinha were present on the occasion.
