Facile win for Leeds Asian School

Patna, October 20
Leeds Asian School notched up facile 56-run victory over RKC High School in the 24th Sukhdeo Narain memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the DAV Public School, BSEB Colony ground here on Monday.

Dinesh Kumar of Leeds Asian School, who scored 35 (2x4) runs and claimed three wickets, was adjudged man of the match. Put into bat Leeds Asian boys scored 163 for eight wickets off 30 overs and then restricted their rivals for paltry 107 runs off 28 overs.

Sardar Patel Inter-School athletics

The 7th Sardar Patel inter-school athletic championships will be held at the Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna from December 12, according to KC Mahajan, secretary, Sardar Patel Sports and Cultural Foundation.

St Michael's High School triumph

A blazing 84-run (6x3, 8x4) by Fahad helped St Michael’s Hgh School, Patna drub Millennium Public School, Buxar by 42 runs in the Super 30 Challenge Cup inter-school cricket tournament at the Patna College ground on Monday.

For his brilliant performance, Fahad got the man of the match award.

Earlier, in the first match, International School thrashed Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bailey Road by 64 runs.Md Ashjad of International School, who made 34 runs and took two wickets, was declared man of the match.

Cycling bronze for Bihar

Bihar bagged the bronze medal in the senior 70km team time trial event of the 14th National cycling championship at Jamkhandi in Karnataka on Monday, according to Vikram Aditya, president, Cycling Association of Bihar. Narendra Singh, Yashbir Singh, Satyabir Singh and Dharmendra Kumar made the Team Bihar for the event.

Bihar team excels in ball badminton
Bihar performed well in the 28th sub-junior National ball badminton championship in Amaritsar recently. Md Tajammul Haque, secretary, Bihar Ball Badminton Association said Bihar defeated Haryana 29-10, 29-8, Orissa 29-6, 29-8 and Uttrakhand 29-0, 29-0 in their pool matches.

Coaches seminar on November 16

Coaches Association of Bihar will organize its annual meeting and a seminar at the meeting hall of Patna Museum on November 16, according to Abhishek Kumar, secretary, Coaches Association of Bihar.

The NIS trained coaches and sports experts will take part in the seminar which will discuss the state of Bihar sports and the possible measures for the uplift. Kumar said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would inaugurate the meet.
