Vivek Kumar’s four wickets for 42 runs helped Bihar script six wickets victory over Chhattisgarh in the BCCI Associate Cup Under-16 cricket tournament at Silchar (Assam) on Thursday.
This was Bihar’s second straight win the in tournament. Earlier on Tuesday, Bihar beat Manipur by eight wickets.
According to information reached here, it was Vivek, who tormented Chhattisgarh batting line up with his pace and accuracy. Bating first Chhattisgarh were all out for 143 runs off 42.5 overs. Nishan Prakash took three wickets for 33 runs while Mohammad Rashid bagged one wicket for 18 runs. Irfan batted well to score 36 runs with four boundaries.
In reply, Bihar took over the target losing four wickets on the way off 32.1 overs. Vikash Ranjan (44 not out) and Kumar Rajnish (40 not out) steered Bihar to victory after some early hiccups. Shiv Kumar made 21 runs.
