Patna, December 1, 2009: After about 10 years of isolation from national cricket, Bihar boys got the platform to show their mettle in the BCCI Associate Cup under-16 tournament at Silchar in Assam. They did not disappoint in their first match against Manipur and chalked out impressive eight-wicket victory to start their campaign in style.
First it was Bihar’s Vivek, who ripped apart Manipur batting line up and bowled them out for paltry 77 runs off 11.3 overs.
In reply, Rajeev Kumar hit a hurricane unbeaten half-century to pilot Bihar to a whipping eight-wicket victory. Rajiv’s unbeaten knock of 51 runs contained 11 nicely executed boundaries. Bihar achieved the target losing only two wickets off 11.3 overs. Opener Siddhant Vijay scored 22 runs off 33 balls with four hits to the fence.
