Dev Public School and Donny Polo School move into Sukhdeo cricket semifinals

Panta, December 1, 2009: Dev Public School and Donny Polo School advanced to thesemifinals of the 25th All-India Sukhdeo Naraian memorial inter-school cricket tournament at the Minul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday.

Dev Public School annihilated Don Bosco Academy by 123 runs while Donny Polo School trounced St Francis School, Punjab, by 71 runs.

Raj Kishore Yadav of Dev Public School and Anmol Kumar Boni of Donny Polo School were adjudged man of the match in their respective matches. Dr Ajay Sinha and Dr Chitaranjan Prasad jointly gave away the awards.

Batting first, Dev Public School scored 198 for eight wickets off 25 overs. Sudarshan (37), Akash (30), Raj Kishore (29) and Anish (26)were the main contributors. Amitabh and Mukesh claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Don Bosco Academy could score 75 runs for the loss of nine wickets off 25 overs. Rishav made 36 runs. Raj Kishore grabbed three wickets for 6 runs.

In the second match of the day, Donny Polo boys collected 158 runs for 5 off 25 overs, Anmol Kumar Boni played a blazing knock of unbeaten 85 runs. Ritesh Kumar scored 27 runs.
In reply, St Francis boys were all out for 87 runs. Ajay Sandhu (22), Rispal Singh (17) and Rajbir Singh (15) were the main contributors. Anand Priya and Rahul Kumar destroyed visitors’ innings claiming three wickets each.
