Patna, Siwan and Samastipur reach semifinals

Patna, December 9, 2009: Semifinalists were spotted in the 61st Bihar State and inter-district football championships for the Moinul Haq Trophy at DSA ground in Purnia on Wednesday. Patna, Siwan and EC Railway, Samastipur joined EC Railway, Danapur in the semifinals.

According to information reached here, Patna trounced Saran 3-0 with brilliant hat-trick of goals from RK Mahto that he scored in the 6th, 10th and 15th minutes of the match.
Patna will take on Siwan in the first semi final on Friday.

Siwan outplayed Munger 3-1. Md Nasim Khan was the hero of Siwan win as the agile striker found the target in the 25th and 58th minutes while Krishna Shakia scored the other one in the 15th minute. Banshi Kumar of Munger netted the lone goal for in the 16th minute.

Samastipur crushed Bhojpuir 4-2 in the last quarterfinal match. Ramesh Kumar of Samastipur scored all the four goals in a row in the 15th, 19th, 65th and 77th minutes. Rakesh of Bhojpur scored two goals in the 53rd and 55th minutes. Samastipur will clash with Danapur in the first semi final on Thursday.
