Jiten Lohar nets eight goals as Patna humble Samastipur 15-0

Patna, December 7, 2009: Jiten Lohar struck a record eight goals as Patna humbled Samastipur 15-0 in the 61st Bihar state football championships for the Moinul Haq Trophy in Purnia on Monday.

According to information reached here, in the other match of the day, Saran beat Darbhanga 2-1. With this victories both Patna and Saran moved into the quarterfinals.

Samastipur was just no match to Patna, as the latter scored flurry of goals. Pritam Bahadur (three) Shahbaz (two) and R K Mahto (two) were the other goal scorers. Jiten Lohar was declared man of the match.

In the second match, Santosh Kumar of Saran scored first goal in the 29th minute. Ranjan Kumar of Darbhanga brought in the equaliser in the 32nd minute. Rais Alam of Saran scored the match winner in the 35th minute. Raju Kumar of Saran was adjudged man of the match.

Earlier on Sunday, Munger, Siwan and Danapur won their respective matches. Munger beat Bettiah 4-1, Siwan beat Mansi 3-0 while East Central Railway, Danapur beat Gaya 2-0.
