Civil Audit Recreation Club chalked out a fighting 2-1 win over Rainbow Football Club in the SP Sinha memorial super division soccer league at Gandhi Maidan here on Monday.
Winners were leading 2-0 in the first half.
Civil Audit Club dominated the first half play forcing their opponents on the defence. Civil Audit earned a penalty kick in the 8th minute of the game when their striker Babloo Kumar Sinha was brought down by the Rainbow defenders. Imteyaz Alam took the spot kick and did the rest (1-0).
Civil Audit Club made it 2-0 in the 24th minute when Babloo Kumar Sinha headed home off a TS Soren measured floater.
Rainbow boys bounced back in the second half and reduced the margin through Sunil Kumar (2-1). Sunil Kumar played very well and got cheering support from the crowd. This was the sixth match of Civil Audit Club and they won five and lost one.
In the second match played at the Patna High School ground, Police Boys Club beat Secretariat Sports Club 3-0. Shahbuddin Khan opened the account in the 8th minute (1-0). Vijay Kumar increased the margin in the 13th minute (2-0). Uttam Kumar completed the tally in the 65th minute (3-0).
Rajesh Kumar of Secretariat Sports Club was shown yellow card by referee Kailash Prasad for rough play. Police Boys’ Club have played seven matches and won four and lost three.
