AITA talent series: Grand double for Vishu

It was Vishu Prasad’s day at the Patliputra Colony tennis courts here on Saturday. The Delhi lad played brilliantly to win a grand double in the All India Tennis Association (AITA) talent search series tournament. Vishu claimed the under-12 boys’ singles and doubles titles to make it a grand double.

Vishu notched up a facile 6-3, 6-2 victory over Shree Krishna of Bihar to win the boys’ under-12 singles title. Partnering with Shree Krishna, he later claimed the U-12 boys’ doubles title defeating the UP pair of Surya Singh and Praduman Budhiraja in the 6-2, 6-2.


Bihar combination of Adamya Vikrant and Venkat Siddharath clinched the boys’ under-14 doubles title beating Vishu Prasad (Delhi) and Shree Krishna (Bihar) 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 in grueling final. Saarthak Mehta of MP won the boys' U-14 singles crown defeating Adamya Vikrant (Bihar) 6-2, 7-5.
