AITA talent series: Six Bihar players move into second round

After a breather of about 10 days, the clay courts of the Patliputra Colony Tennis Club came alive with the kids striking the ball by their racquets as hard as possible. It was another tournament of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) talent series that began on a sound note. The tournament is being organised by Bihar Lawn Tennis Association.

As the day progressed, the first day of tournament saw Six Bihar players sailed into the second round of the boys’ under-12 and 14 sections. Ahbar Alam of Bihar was the first to enter the second round defeating Nihal Singh (Bihar) 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.

Boys’ under-12 singles (first round):
Ahbar Alam (Bihar) beat Nihal Singh (Bihar) 6-2, 1-6, 6-4; Raman Ayush (Bihar) beat Arbab Alam (Bihar) 6-3, 6-2 and Naved Ahmed (Bihar) beat Yuvraj Abhishek (Bihar)6-0, 6-1.

Boys’ under-14 singles (first round)
Pushkarditya Sinha (UP) beat Ankit Anand (Bihar) 6-1, 6-2; Pradumn Budhiraja (AP) beat Manak Kashyap (Delhi) 7-5, 3-6, 6-2; Rajat Tripathi (MP) beat Akshat Agrawal(WB) 6-0, 6-3; Surya Singh (UP) beat Naved Ahmed (Bihar) 6-0, 6-0; Sidhant Raj (Bihar) beat Shahbaz Ahmed (Bihar) 6-0, 6-0; Zain Zafar (Bihar) beat Osho (Bihar) 6-1, 6-2 and Anish Anupam (Bihar) beat Aditya Bhardwaj (Bihar) 6-2, 6-2.
