Bihar Police struggle to beat Patna Police

Patna, July 13, 2009
Bihar Police earned a lone goal win over Patna Police in the SP Sinha memorial Patna Super Division football league at the Patna High School ground here on Monday.
Striker Somo Lamba struck the winning goal in the 38th minute. Patna Police got an golden opportunity to equalize when they were awarded a penalty kick in the 70th minute. Anmol David missed the target.

Later the clash of two police teams turned volatile as players were indulged more or body play rather than ball. SB Limbu and Dhirendra Gurung both from Bihar Police were shown yellow cards for rough play.

In the second at the Gandhi Maidan, Rainbow Football Club held State Bank of India (SBI) to a 1-1 draw. Sanjit Kumar drew the first blood for SBI in the 9th minute. Sujit Kumar equalised the lead in the 23rd minute (1-1).
