Bihar Police outplayed Police Boys’ Club 4-0 in the SP Sinha memorialPatna Super Division soccer league at the Gandhi Maidan here on Friday.
The winners were ahead by 1-0 in the first half.
Despite dominating the proceedings in the first half, Bihar Police strikers took 36 minutes to score the first goal. Rahul Shah opened the account in the 36th minute (1-0).
Shah scored one more goal in the second half (53rd minute) to take the lead to 2-0. Biren Gurung netted in the third and fourth goals in the 60th and 75th minutes to make it 4-0.
Bihar Police so far have played five matches, won four and lost one against Bihar Regimental Centre, Danapur.
In the second match at Patna High School ground, Food Corporation of India (FCI) beat State Bank of India (SBI) by a solitary goal. The all important goal came in the 47th minute through striker Sunny Kumar’s boot. Mukesh Kumar and Hansda (both SBI) were shown yellow cards by referee for rough play.
