Patna, October 31, 2009:Football Academy, Patna (FAP) edged past Eleven Brothers by a solitary goal in the opening match of the Patna senior division football league at the New Police Lines ground here on Friday.
Mrinal scored the match winner in the 55th minute. Eleven Brothers came near the equalizer at the fag end of the second half but Mintu Kumar shot wide from the top of the box. Abhishek Anand, Tauquir Johar of Patna Football Academy and Manoj Kumar of Eleven Brothers were shown yellow cards by referee NK Sahani.
Earlier, senior footballer Kabir Khan inaugurated the tournament. Jwala Prasad Sinha, office secretary, Bihar Football Association (BFA), Syam Babu Yadav, vice-president, Patna Football Association and BFA women’s wing secretary, Gopi Nath Dutta were present in at the inaugural function.
