Top contenders Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha and Karnataka won their respective matches to earn full points in the boys’ section of the 21st National sub-junior kabaddi championships at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday.
West Bengal, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab and Goa girls won their matches cement their positions in the their respective pools.
For the hosts Bihar, it was a mixed day. Bihar boys were lucky enough to get a walk-over against Punjab while Bihar girls lost their match against Haryana after a keen contest at 34-36.
In a pool ‘A’ encounter of the boys’ section, Rajasthan mauled Tripura 54-08 after gaining a decisive 35-6 points lead in the first half. The match between Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat saw some keen tussle as the former struggled hard to beat the latter 46-30.
In girls’ section, Hyderabad struggled hard to beat Karnataka 30-27.

In the second half, West Bengal collected 14 points with two lona points while Uttarakhand garnered only five points without a single lona point in the match. For Bengal, Sumiti, Rakhi, Soumi and Aparna displayed tremendous kabaddi skills.
