Devpriya moves up in AITA ranking tennis

Patna, October 20, 2009:
Bihar’s Devpriya Jaiswal began his title hunt in style defeating Mani Mishra of Uttar Pradesh 6-4, 6-1 in a first round match of the All-India ranking tennis championships at Patliputra Colony courts here on Monday.

Mishra began well and broke Devpriya’s service in the fifth game of the first set. But he failed to capitalize the advantage as Devpriya displayed some accurate top spin shots to capture the set at 6-4. In the second set Devpriya was just too good for Mani.
