Patna, October 20, 2009:Buxar, NABARD, Bhojpur and Samastipur won their respective team event matches of the men’s section in the Bihar state and inter-district carrom championships at Post and Telegraph Recreation Club hall here on Monday.
The opening day of the championships saw no upset coming from any board while two slams were recorded. Jalaj Kumar of Muzaffarpur hit first white slam of the tournament while Navin Arya of Chapra executed the second one.
Earlier, AG Bihar Arun Kumar Singh inaugurated the tournament playing a board with Bihar Players’ Association president Mritunjay Tiwari. Pankaj Kumar, regional director, Punjab Technical University was the special guest at the opening function. Working president Bihar Carrom Association, Ravi P Sinha welcomed the guests while organizing secretary Ramashish Sinha proposed a vote of thanks.

Men’s knock out round: Seohar beat Gaya 2-0, Muzaffarpur beat Jamui 3-0, Post and Telegraph beat darbhanga 3-0, LIC beat Katihar 3-0.
