PDCA senior division league: Rajesh Sinha spins PESU to impressive victory

Taking five wickets in a match has always been a moment to cherish. Old-war-horse Rajesh Sinha did it umpteen times in his career. On Wednesday playing against Kamala Nehru Cricket Club (KNCC), Rajesh Sinha did it again. He took five wickets for 20 runs off 6 overs to help Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (PESU) post convincing nine-wicket victory over KNCC in the Patna District Cricket Association (PDCA) senior division league at the Moinul Haq Stadium here.

Batting first KNCC could manage to score a meagre 94 runs off 29.2 overs. Cahandan Prakash emerged as the top scorer stroking polished 42 runs with four hits to the fence. Mr Extras (20) was the other noteworthy contributor.

Besides Rajesh Sinha’s five-wicket haul, PESU skipper Nikhilesh Ranjan claimed three wickets for 21 runs in his spell of 5.2 overs.

PESU replied back in an impressive way. Openers Indrajeet and Viswas Gauray put in a half-century partnership for the first wicket before Viswas was adjudged run out making 25 runs with three boundaries. Indrajeet and Kislay Kishore carried PESU to victory without furtherdamage. Indrajeet remained unbeaten on 52 runs. His knock contained three boundaries and two mighty heaves over the fence. Kslay too remained not out on 13 runs.

The second match of the day, however, witnessed a bit of fight between Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) and Vanijya Mahavidyalaya. BSEB prevailed over their rivals by four wickets.
Vanijya compiled a fighting 158 for the loss of nine wickets off 30overs. BSEB reached the target losing six wickets on way in 29.1overs.

BSEB: 160 for 6 in 29.1 overs (Abhinav 50, Ravi Prakash 35, RK Rana 16/2, Satish 18/1
