Patna College struggled to edge past Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (PESU) by one wicket in the PDCA senior division league at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday. In the first match of the day, State Bank of India (SBI) defeated Navshakti Niketan by 48 runs.
Batting first SBI collected 174 runs for the loss of two wickets off 30 overs. Mridul and Arvind Jha slammed half centuries. In reply, Navshakti Niketan stumbled out for 126 runs off 27.2 overs. Deepankar Kumar Sinha ran through the Navshakti innings claiming six wickets for 29 runs.
PESU made 136 for 7 off 30 overs while Patna College achieved the target with eight balls to spare losing nine wickets.
