Rajasthan register first win in the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Championship

New Delhi, April 25, 2013: Five goals by Sonu helped Rajasthan beat Bengal 9-2 in a Pool B league match of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday. 

After losing two matches in the championship this is the first victory for Rajasthan.

Goal scorers for Rajasthan were Sonu (17, 21, 50, 58, 64 minutes), Jaya Chouhan (19, 52 minutes) and Prabhjot Kaur (61, 69 minutes). For Bengal scorers were Archana Kumari Tewari (5 min) and Rubi Khatun (39 min).

    

In Pool H, Assam thrashed Delhi 5-2.

Scorers for Assam were Rashmi Soran (25, 30 minutes), Puja Sinha (9 min), Annu Kumari (15 min) and Divyani Verma (46 min) while Manita (34 min) and Sangeeta Singh (68 min) scored for Delhi.

In Pool F, Chandigarh defeated Bhopal 4-0.

Scorers for Chandigarh were Pooja Kundu (11 min), Karishma Singh (14 min), Usha Singh (20 min) and Nishi Singh (52).
