Runjuan Tongrut, Director, TAT announcing Gaganjeet Bhullar as a brand ambassador of Thailand Tourism in New Delhi on April 17, 2013

New Delhi, April 17, 2013:  Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has appointed India’s ace golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar to be their brand ambassador to promote golf tourism across Thailand in order to project Thailand as one of the most sought after golfing destinations.

TAT confirmed that the engagement with one of the best Indian golfers was fuelled by his consistent performances with the iron.

Runjuan Tongrut, Director, TAT New Delhi, said, “We are very delighted to have Gaganjeet Bhullar on board. He is one of India’s most promising golfer and we believe he will be a huge inspiration to golfers in India.  He has often been to Thailand and enjoys playing golf there. We believe that this corporation will bring a long-term relationship between Thai and Indian Golfers, since Mr. Bhullar is a young and fresh talent.

He also takes care of junior golfers under “Gaganjeet Bhullar Foundation”, to which TAT has also contributed some amount to the foundation through him.”

Commenting on his association with Amazing Thailand, 24-year-old Bhullar said, “I have quite often played tournaments in Thailand and whenever I go there, I end up meeting people from Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC), Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) or Delhi Golf Club (DGC). So I believe it is a great initiative to popularize the game amongst the Indians. Thailand is known as a golfers’ paradise due to the warm Thai Hospitality and professional caddy.  I look forward to be associated with Thailand and feel very privileged by this gesture from TAT”.
