Bihar women trounce J and K in senior national hockey

New Delhi, April 24, 2013: Aprajita Kumari struck five goals, including a hattrick to fashion Bihar's emphatic 9-0 win against Jammu and Kashmir in a Pool D league match of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday.

Goal scorers for Bihar were Aprajita Kumari (13, 19, 43, 51, 65 minutes), Antu Kumari (56, 59 min), Poonam Giri (10 min) and Manji Pandey (68).

In Pool B, Mumbai Hockey Association Limited (MHA Ltd) beat Bengal.13-0.

Scorers for MHA Ltd were Jahanara Bano (12, 23, 26, 36, 47 minutes), Sarita Hanuman (14, 32, 41, 43 min), Tanaz Mohammed (15, 62 min), Pratibha Sawant (8 min) and Krishna Patel (27 min).

In Pool F, Sport Authority of India (SAI) beat Hockey Bhopal 4-2.

For SAI Ranjita Sanasam (15 min), Anima Soreng (33 min), Sushma Tiru (43 min), Kulwinder Kaur (53 min) and for Hockey Bhopal Chanda Gupta (2 min), Deepika Sharma (14 min) struck the goals.
