Patna Women’s College (PWC) won the Lucent Cup 14th Dhyanchand throwball championships title defeating Rabindra Balika Vidyalaya 15-7, 10-15, 15-3 in the final at the Bankipore Girls’ High School ground here on Thursday.
In the boys’ event, BMP High School and PN Anglo Sanskrit School from pool ‘A’ and Alliance Club and Patna Central School from pool ‘B’ entered the semi-finals.
Arya Kanya Vidyalaya, Dayanand Girls High School, Bankipore Girls HighSchool and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kankarbagh, booked made the last four grade in the of the girls’ section.
In the women’s final, PWC led by Kamana Bharati won the first game quite comfortably 15-7 against Rabindra Balika School. Besides Kamana, Suman Kumari, Vandna, Sumedha and Arpana played well in all departments of the game.
In the second game, Rabindra Balika Vidyalaya bounced back to win the game at 15-10. Sarita Singh, Seema, Simran, Sandhya and Priti of Rabindra Balika dished out impressisve performance.
After a lackadaisical performance in the second game, PWC rejuvenated themselves and played attacking game with speed and precision to take the final game and the match at 15-3.

Boys’ (round robin league): Alliance Club beat Patna Central School 15-5, 15-12, Alliance Club beat Gautam Buddha Club, Jehanabad15-13, 15-12; PN Anglo Sanskrit School beat Patliputra Public School10-15, 15-7, 15-10.
Girls’ : (round robin league): Bankipore Girls High School beat PWC Blue Panthers 15-10, 15-10; Dayanand Girls High School beat Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bailey Road 15-10, 15-10; Patna Central School beat BMP Girls’High School 15-9, 15-9; BPM Girls’ High School beat Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bailey Road 15-13, 16-14.
