Patna Super Divsion football league: FCI prove too strong for Secretariat

Food Corporation of India (FCI) scored a thumping 5-0 win over Secretariat Sports Club while Patna Police struggled to beat Raibow 2-1 in the SP Sinha memorial Patna Super Division soccer league here on Friday.

At Patna High School ground, FCI were leading 1-0 in the first half.

FCI mounted pressure from the very start of the match with their halves feeding the strikers well. Manoj opened the account in the 20th minute (1-0). After conceding a goal, Secretariat players played some brilliant football but failed equalize the score.

FCI came into full colour in the second half and scored four more goals to take the tally to 5-0. Manoj increased the margin in the 60th minute (2-0). Makai Lal hit the third goal in the 70th minute (3-0). Ten minutes later, Kaila netted in the fourth goal (4-0). Ajay completed the tally in the 87th minute (5-0).

FCI so far had played 10 matches, won seven and lost three. Secretariat out of ten matches drew one and lost nine.In the second match at Gandhi Maidan, Sohail Khan put Patna Police into the lead in the fifth minute (1-0). Pradeep Oraon increased the margin in the 60th minute (2-0). Jai Singh reduced the margin for Rainbow in the 61st minute (2-1).
