DPS, Patna clinch school football trophy


Patna, July 30, 2009
Delhi Public School (DPS), Patna, clinched the inter-school football tournament trophy beating Don Bosco Academy 2-0 in the final at the St Michael’s High School ground here on Thursday.

DPS took the commanding 2-0 lead in the first half.

DPS boys played an attacking and calculated football in the first half of the match. Anurag Kumar shot home in the 31st minute to put his team into a 1-0 lead. Anurag Pratik completed the tally in the 50th minute scoring second goal (2-0).

Sudhir Prasad, senior branch manager, LIC, Danapur, distributed the prizes. Father Peter Arockiasamy, Principal, St Michael’s School welcomed the guests.

Abhijeet Kaushik of DPS, Patna was adjudged the best scorer of the tournament. Vaibhav of Don Bosco Academy and Sansu Kumar of St Michael’s High School were declared best goalkeeper and player of the tournament respectively.
