Patna Super Division football league: BRC, BSEB earn full points

Patna, August 2, 2009:
Bihar Regimental Centre (BRC) outclassed Bihar Police 2-0 while Bihar State Electricity Board beat Raibow 3-1 in the SP Sinha memorial Patna Super Division football league here.

At Gandhi Maidan, Bihar Regimental Centre took the 1-0 lead in the 11th minute of the match as B Thapa struck home. BRC were leading one goal to nil at the end of the first half’s play.

In the 67th minute of the second half, Jeetan Lohar netted the second and final goal of the match (2-0).

At Patna High School ground, Sunil (17th) and Imtyaz (27th) put BSEB 2-0 up in the first half. Pankaj Kumar struck the third goal in the 63rd minute. Vilas Kumar reduced the margin for Rainbow.

Earlier on Saturday, Bihar Police earned full points against Khazanchi Road Football Club despite the match was declared abandoned after nine minutes of play. At that time both teams were locked goalless.


Referee took the decision in Bihar Police favour as Khazanchi Road failed to field required number of players in the given time. The match began on a dull note. Khazanchi Road Club entered the ground with eight players against Bihar Police. After five minutes of play, one player of the Khazanchi Road Club got injured and he had to leave the ground. The Club continued the game with seven players.

In the ninth minute, another player of the Khazanchi Road Club was injured and left the ground. Referee Manoj Kumar had no alternative only to blow the final whistle.
