Patna, August 6, 2009Seeded players won their respective first round matches in the Ganauri Das memorial chess tournament that began at the RBI, Patna, premises here on Thursday.
Notable winners in first round were Kunal, Ved Prakash Sinha, Ashutosh Kumar and Vijay Kumar.
Earlier, MS Soy, general manager, RBI, Patna, inaugurated the tournament. Rajeev Ranjan, secretary, Reserve Bank of India Sports and Recreation Club welcomed the guests and DK Tripathi proposed a vote of thanks. Pramod Kumar, secretary, RBI Employees Association, Arvind Kumar Sinha, secretary, All Bihar Chess Association and Manoj Ranjan were present at the inaugural function.
