Senior women hockey probables for future tournaments pruned down to 33


NEW DELHI, November 16, 2012:  Hockey India selection committee has decided to prune down the list of core group women probables to 33 players during the two-day selection trials which concluded at Aish Bagh Stadium in Bhopal on November 10.

Hockey India selectors BP Govinda, Savitry Purty and Surinder Kaur along with Government observer Harbinder Singh and chief coach Neil Hawgood tested the fitness and performance of all the players before pruning down the list of core probables from 48 to 33 so as to build a strong team for New Zealand Test series in December this year and the FIH World League Round 2 tournament to be hosted in Delhi during February 2013.

The selectors will announce the squad of 18 players soon for the New Zealand six match Test series to be played in New Zealand from December 6 - 16.

India will be participating in the FIH World League Round 2 tournament to be hosted in Delhi from February 18 – 24, 2013.
