Junior women hockey probables pruned down to 33

NEW DELHI, November 19, 2012:  Hockey India selection committee has decided to prune down the list of junior women core group probables to 33 players during the two-day selection trials which concluded at the Aish Bagh Hockey Stadium and Mayur Park Stadium at Bhopal on November 10.

Hockey India Selectors BP Govinda, Savitry Purty and Surender Kaur along with Government observer Harbinder Singh, chief coach Neil Hawgood and coach Narinder Saini tested the fitness and performance of all players during the trials before pruning down the list of core probables to 33 in preparations for the FIH Junior Women World Cup 2013.

India has already qualified for FIH Junior Women World Cup 2013 by winning a silver medal at the recent Junior Women Asia Cup. The FIH Junior Women World Cup will be held in Germany in July 2013. The coaching camp as part of the preparations for the World Cup is already underway at SAI Centre, Bhopal which commenced on October 27, 2012.
