Patna, May 10, 2010: BMP High School boys and Delhi Public School girls won their opening matches in grand fashion in the Jitendra Rai memorial inter-school basketball tournament at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday.
BMP High School outplayed St Xavier’s School 18-9. Varun Kumar and Saurav Kumar of BMP School caged in 8 and 6 points respectively. Ashish of St Xavier’s School scored 9 points.
In the girls’ section, DPS outplayed Litera Valley School 18-0 with Samrin and Akshra making 12 and 6 points respectively.
Earlier Ashwani Kumar Singh, CMD, Ashwani Group inaugurated the tournament. Bihar Players’ Association president Mritunjay Tiwari, Throwball Association of Bihar secretary Neeraj Kumar Pappu, Bihar Basketball Association secretary Shushil Kumar and Mithilesh Kumar were present on the occasion.
