Discussions held on openings based on Queen’s Pawn and King's Pawn

Patna, May 7, 2010: The penultimate day of seven-day residential coaching camp being conducted under guidance of International Master Varugeese Koshy at Rajendra Nagar here, was full of activities.

Practice, lessons, puzzles, inter-active sessions on middle game positions arose out of standard openings of Queen Pawn, group discussion on the running commentaries of Ficher in his famous book “My Sixty Memorable Games’’ were of great benefit for the trainees to have an idea about how deeply a Grand Master’s mind works and analyses various consequences during the game.

Giving this information Arvind Kumar Sinha, secretary All Bihar Chess Association said that Koshy expressed that he found Bihar players verydisciplined, sincere and eager to learn. He hoped that All Bihar Chess Association would provide proper platform for practice of the players by arranging official Bihar Open tournaments.

As per the syllabus, entire evening session a full period of discussion was held on various openings based on Queen’s Pawn and King Pawn and the c-4 openings such as English Opening and Reti Opening.
