Patna, May 14, 2010 : Muzaffarpur will take on Arwal in the Randhir Verma under-19 inter-district cricket tournament final. In the first semi-final, Muzaffarpur outclassed Siwan by six wickets at the Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Friday.
In the second semi-finals at Bihta, Arwal beat Jamui by two wickets.
Asked to bat first, Siwan made 153 runs in 30 overs. Sonu (25), Imran Nazir (35) and Manish (27) were main scorers. Akash took four wickets for 20 runs. Ajay grabbed two wickets for 32 runs.
In reply, Muzaffarpur achieved the target in 25.1 overs losing fourwickets. Sanky (48), Ajay (34) and Gautam (26) batted well.
Batting first, Jamui hit up 186 for nine wickets off 30 overs. Karan top scored with 56 runs. Anand and Gautam struck 41 and 18 runs respectively.Kundan and Chandrakant got three wickets each for 24 and 27 runs respectively. Animesh fetched in two wickets for 45 runs.
Needing 187 runs for victory in 30 overs, Arwal slammed the required runs in 28.5 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Mukesh (50 not out), Animesh (33) and Rupesh (25) contributed well to set up a fine win. Vikas and Amarendra bagged two wickets each for 35 and 28 runs respectively.
