Ved, Aditi, Samir, Pankaj and Harsh win APWAD school chess titles

Patna, May 2, 2010: Ved Prakash and Aditi Arya claimed the coveted boys under-16 and girls’ under-14 crowns respectively in the APWAD inter-school mastermind chess championships at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday.

Samir Sengar won the boys’ under-14 title while Pankaj Kumar and Kumar Harsh clinched the boys’ under-12 and under-10 titles respectively.

Throwball Federation of India joint secretary Neeraj Kumar ‘Pappu’, Dr Shiv Narayan Singh volleyball tournament secretary Dr Sunil Kumar Singh, Walk & Talk managing director Siddhartha Jain and Commerce Coaching director Mithilesh Tiwari jointly gave away the prizes and cash awards.

Ravindra Rai, president, Association for People’s Welfare and Development (APWAD) welcomed the guests and tournament director Rakesh Ranjan proposed a vote of thanks.

The organizing committee also felicitated Sudhir Kumar, Birendra Upadhaya, Rajesh Kumar, Bipin Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Santosh Kumar (all arbiters) on the occasion.
