Patna, February 23, 2010: Buxar inflicted a crushing eight-wicket defeat on Nalanda in the Chief Minister Cup cricket tournament (Patna zone) at the Moinul Haq Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Batting first, Nalanda boys soon fell into trouble as Buxar medium pacers Ramakant and Ajit Mishra wrecked havoc sharing seven wickets between them. Nalanda crashed out for a meager 22 runs off 11.1 overs.
Ajit Mishra and Ramakant bagged four and three wickets each for 14 and four runs respectively. No Nalanda batsmen reached double figures. In reply, Buxar achieved the target off 4.4 overs losing Manoj (5) and Mahendra (4) wickets. Praveen took both the wickets for 13 runs.
