BSNL volleyball: Bihar out of title race

Patna, February 5, 2010: Bihar suffered two consecutive defeats in the Super League section of the 9th All-India BSNL volleyball championships and bowed out of title race at the Telegraph Recreation Club courts here on Friday.

Defending champions Karnataka chalked out an impressive 25-12, 25-13, 25-17 victory over hosts Bihar in the first super league match while in the second match of the day Tamil Nadu edged past Bihar 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.

In the other matches of the Super League runners-up Tamil Nadu had a run for money to tame Himachal Pradesh 25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 21-25, 15-13. After the end of today’s matches, it was all set that the winners between Karanatka and Tamil Nadu natch would be champion of the tournament.

Results:
Karnataka beat Bihar 25-12, 25-13, 25-17; Tamil Nadu beat Himachal Pradesh 25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 21-25, 15-13; Karnataka beat Himachal Pradesh 25-15, 25-20, 25-12 and Tamil Nadu beat Bihar 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.
