Montfort TT: St Michael's High School girls too good for St Karen's High School

Patna, August 29, 2009:
St Michael’s High School defeated St Karen’s High school 3-1 in the junior girls’ event in the the 10th Brother John De Montfort memorial inter-school table tennis tournament at Loyola High School hall here on Saturday.


Surabhi and Asmita of St Michael’s and Isha of St Karen’s School won their respective matches. Delhi Public School (DPS) won the senior girls’ team title defeating Notre Dame Academy 3-0 in the final.

St Xavier’s High School, DPS, St Michael’s High School and hosts Loyola High School entered the semi-finals of junior and senior boys’ sections.

Rev Father Peter Arockiasamy, principal, St Michael’s High School and Dr Amar Nath Singh, former secretary, Patna University Teachers’ Association (PUTA), jointly inaugurated the championship in a colourful function. Students of Loyola School presented an enthralling cultural programme in the opening ceremony. Mukesh Roy, secretary, Bihar Table Tennis Association (BTTA), was present at the inaugural function. Rev Brother Felix, principal, Loyola High School, welcomed the guests.
