Bihar U-19 chess: Three players share lead

Patna, September 7, 2009:
Three players Kumar Gaurav (Muzaffarpur), Vijay Kumar (Bhojpur) and Minazul Haq (Saran) shared the lead with 4.5 points each at the end of fifth round play of the Shiv Chnadra Ojha memorial Bihar State under-19 chess championships in Muzaffarpur on Sunday.

Playing with black, Kumar Gaurav outplayed Nilesh Ranjan of Patna in 56 moves. With this defeat, Nilesh, who was on the top of the table with four points in as many rounds, moved to joint second position with Saurav Anand (Purnia), Saurav Kumar (Muzaffarpur), Vivek Rohan Sharma (Muzaffarpur) and Sujit Kumar (Begusarai).

In women section, Surabhi and Preyashi Raj (both Muzaffarpur) were leading the table with three points each after the end of third round.
